Role description
Hertz Flavours Makmur Indonesia is looking for a forward-thinking and experienced Head of HR Indonesia to oversee all aspects of HR for our Indonesian office and manage our local HR team. Reporting to the Managing Director of Indonesia, and working closely with the global Head of People & Culture, you will implement effective talent management strategies, develop organizational capabilities, and foster a high-performance culture. Furthermore, this role is instrumental in transforming traditional HR practices into scalable, automated processes that drive efficiency, transparency, and impact. Your contributions within data management, digital transformation, and talent management will ensure HFMI’s continued success as we scale and grow.
Your Mission
As Head of HR Indonesia, you belong to the local leadership team and your mission is to modernize and elevate your department’s operations in Indonesia. You will design scalable, automated processes, empower your team to execute effectively, and implement talent management strategies aligned with Arethia’s growth objectives. Your focus will be on creating data-driven HR practices, fostering trust and confidentiality, and equipping department heads with the tools and guidance to succeed in organizational design and workforce planning.
- Manage and mentor the local HR team, ensuring high-quality execution and adherence to modern standards in both in projects and daily tasks.
- Overhaul manual HR practices and build scalable, automated processes using tools such as Personio, Confluence, and Jira.
- Align local processes with global policies, e.g. career progression framework (incl. levelling, skills matrix, salary bands), benefits, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, etc.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of HR data, building reporting capabilities to support the Managing Director, as well as the the global Head of People & Culture, global Head of Finance, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all processes, SOPs, and Ways of Working follow local employment law.
- Develop efficient payroll processes in compliance with local regulations.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, psychological safety, and confidentiality, building trust in local HR as a reliable partner.
- Provide live trainings in local language on a variety of topics, incl. manager training, trainings on how to conduct performance review, training for employees on how to leverage our L&D offer, trainings on our hiring process, etc.
- Guide managers/department heads in their performance reviews, team design, and definition of hiring needs.
- Lead local manager training and quarterly workshops to upskill both new and experienced leaders on people leadership skills, talent development, and other critical topics.
- Develop an HR strategy and department objectives that align with our company vision and current business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 8+ years of experience in HR, talent management and organisational design.
- Experience in leading a team.
- Experience in a global company and international work practices.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian HR practices and local employment law, incl. payroll, sick leave, contracting, onboarding and offboarding, etc.
- Proven experience in implementing scalable HR processes and modernizing traditional HR practices.
- Strong understanding of talent management and talent development principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS tools and other digital collaboration and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Data-driven approach to HR decision-making and process improvement.
- Excellent English and Bahasa Indonesia language skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building trust and credibility.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align HR initiatives with business goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with leadership development, organizational growth, and change management.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
